our newest favorite summer food

So we have been eating a lot of charcoal grilled pizza lately. Usually we just make them with fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzerella, and basil from our garden. But tonight I created this masterpiece. It's chicken sausage, fresh basil, garlic, red onions, tomatoes, and cheese all on hand tossed, homemade pizza crust. Come to Ames and I can create you your own pizza.

Fourth of July (from Iowa)

It was festive: a long bike ride, a 2 mile run, some steaks, some whiskey, some beer, some wine, some company, and a fire.

snow chunks

Here are some pics of odd snow yesterday. It was snowing in huge chunks rather than flakes. The one in front of my shoe is actually one of the smaller chunks:

This is how you beat the snow.....

So Since my last post on snow we have received about 7 more inches putting us at a grand total of 15" Since Friday night. *sigh* So to beat the snow I worked on a new sandwich. Check out that creation its sauteed brats and onions with sauerkraut, dijon mustard, baby swisscheese all on a toasted bun. GOOD LORD!!! To wash it down I found some of Jamaica's best, which will now lead to a game or two of M*A*S*H afterwords. (Good buddy and neighbor Dan is modeling the meal)

How much snow is too much snow????

Philosophers, Astronomists, and Scientists, as well as many of you here, have long debated how much snow is too much snow??? Hmmm.... Today folks, I have the answer: "when your snow blower isnt able to remove it from your drive and sidewalks." Yes sir-ee, so I would say 8+ inches or at least enough so that my snow thrower choked, gagged and did mostly nothing while attempting to use it. So..... I armstronged it. As for Alyse, no armstronging for her in case you wondered.
